Present Simple or Present Continuous

ผู้เรียนภาษาอังกฤษมักจะมีความสับสนในการใช้ present simple tense และ present continuous tense เสมอ ดังนั้นจะขอทำการเปรียบเทียบวิธีการใช้ดังต่อไปนี้




1. The simple present tense

วิธีการใช้:
1. การกระทำที่กระทำเป็นประจำสม่ำเสมอหรือกระทำจนเป็นกิจนิสัย โดยมักจะมีคำบอกความถี่บ่อยของการกระทำ เช่น every day or every week

2. ใช้แสดงการกระทำที่เป็นความจริง ไม่ค่อยมีการเปลี่ยนแปลง หรือเป็นความคิดเห็น
ตัวอย่าง
แสดงการกระทำที่เกิดเป็นประจำสม่ำเสมอ หรือเป็นนิสัย

Habit Young-Mi goes to class every day.
It rains a lot in Vancouver.
Santos always talks about his family.

Jerry spends Christmas with his parents.
State Bianca lives in Florida. 

Jean-Paul has red hair.
Martin likes chocolate.
Anna believes in God.

2. The present continuous tense

วิธีการใช้

1. เหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในขณะนั้น และช่วงเวลานั้น ๆ

2. เหตุการณ์ที่กำลังจะเกิดในอนาคตอันใกล้โดยได้มีการวางแผนไว้ก่อนล่วงหน้า และมีความตั้งใจให้เกิดขึ้น

ตัวอย่าง:

Temporary action happening right now John is winning the game.

It's raining right now (but it may stop soon).

Soraya's working in the library.
Sihol is spending Christmas with his family.
Definite plan for the future I'm playing soccer tomorrow.
Sarah's leaving for San Francisco on Friday.
The Olympics are taking place here next year. .

I'm having a party next week.
